Pennsylvania 4 is a short story, ~20,000 words (about 70 pages), and is the fourth book of five in the five-star-rated Pennsylvania series.

Young Amishman Jedediah Troyer is the prize in a battle for control over New Pennsylvania. The whole new world is the battlefield as TRACE and the government (Transport) engage in a life and death struggle that could mean either freedom or tyranny for everyone on the planet. All the while Jed and the woman he loves grow closer together. But who is Dawn Beachy and what does she really want from Jed?

Pennsylvania 4 is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2014.

Pennsylvania 4 Thou Shalt Not eBook Michael Bunker

All the questions we had from Pennsylvania 1...2...3 -- so many of those questions get answered in spades. Of course, I won't spoil it here, but you can read PA4 for yourself and discover all the secrets Michael Bunker had up his sleeve all along.
By the time PA4 opens, Jed is living in "New Pennsylvania" along with a number of other old-world Amish, while the swirl of war between Transport and TRACE continues all around. The after-effects from the cliffhanger at the end of PA3 are felt through the first few chapters and helps the reader to understand what is really going on in this story. As the tale continues, Jed (and the reader) is slowly brought up to speed on what is really going on.
Not to say that this segment is left without action -- on the contrary. In fact, the ending is once again a heck of a kicker to lead into Part 5...which is a month away?! Great work, Mr. Bunker. You'll have me waiting with bated breath for the epic conclusion to Jed and Dawn's story.

Pennsylvania 4 Thou Shalt Not eBook Michael Bunker Reviews

Excellent! This installment moved the story forward nicely. It's apparent that almost nothing is what it seems to be. Jed made a guess that I agree with, although Michael Bunker has yet to confirm it. I had suspicions, and I think Jed's right. I also think Jed might be the smartest person in the room, and that this may cost him something in terms of his beliefs. Pennsylvania 5 promises to be very interesting indeed. This series is some fun reading!
As soon as this book was deposited into my tablet I sat down and devoured it in one sitting. The story is unfolding and the plot is thickening. Thankfully the next installment will be coming out soon (I wish these mini-books were a little bit longer - what can I say, I LOVE Amish- Scify!) Please jump on board with this series. You will not be disappointed!
P.S.
It's not strictly necessary to start at the very beginning of the series. It's easy enough to understand without reading the rest, but I would highly recommend the rest because they're such good reads )
Where did this crazy story idea come from? Pennsylvania 4 was full of surprises for me. Some readers say they knew from the beginning where this was all headed, but not me. Bunker surprises me constantly. Part 4 was really good! I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that there is some really good stuff in this story! Dawn, Jed, Amos, Matthias, and Marcus all had me trying to figure out what was going on (and I failed). I can't wait for the final part of this great Amish Sci-Fi.
With this installment, Jed is deep in trouble and more confused than ever. Bunker starts to peel back the layers of the wonderful onion he's created with the Pennsylvania series. At every turn, the reader is drawn deeper into a rich world where nothing is as it appears on the outside. Even as we are given answers, new questions appear and the reader is happily forced to keep riding if they want to reach the end. Just as I thought "how is this going to end'" I remembered Pennsylvania was simply the first volume of a longer story. Now I'm even more excited to see where the Troyers are going. Tease on, Mr. Bunker, tease on!
Just finished reading Penn 4 last night. It was exciting, riveting, imaginative, fun... fun... fun... Being an over the hill former geek I was impressed by the intricate description of the man-machine interface. Extremely well thought out and presented. Wow... Doing all this within the background of an Amish society, world view, and simple, direct way of living and thinking is uniquely refreshing.

If you're into imaginative stories, old time science fiction or such, this is the book for you. READ IT!

Penn 5 is gonna be real, real good. There are many ways this tale can proceed from here...
Good enough to read in one sitting, even though I didn't realize I'd be finished in one sitting. "Just one more page. Just one more page." And there I was at the end, only one thing to do...so I pre-ordered Pennsylvania 5. This is very fun & fresh. At times I thought I saw where the story was going & how it might get there (but very generally). I had an inkling it was going to be similar to other ideas I'd seen. I'm so glad I wasn't even close!

The plot moves along at a perfect pace. It was nice to see more of the characteristics and underlying motivations of the people in the story. Yet, there's definitely enough mystery to keep me checking the calendar, counting the days until PA 5 is released at the end of March.

Here's the thing...I would re-read this.
I think this installment of Pennsylvania is the best one so far. The window is thrown open on a few of the mysteries that have teased us since the beginning, but just when you think you've figured out one thing, Michael Bunker throws you a curve ball. But we (the reader) is on the same journey as Jed, as he's piecing the puzzle together and there's comfort in that. We get to see this tangled web that is this new world through his eyes and (what I love about Jed) through his heart.

I really wish I could say more. In my mind, I'm raving about this whole story, willing more people to read it so I can talk freely (without worrying about spoilers) about what is happening. So, get busy people! Hmm... maybe I need to start a Bunker Book Club.
