I've seen this guy do stand up in NYC. He has a Blue Collar Comedy Tour kind of vibe, most comparable to Ron White, but is more in his own style of more philosophically whimsical paired with remarkable poetic candor. There are so many great one-liners in the book, you may want to also purchase a highlighter!? Many of the jokes seem off-the-cuff and cryptic at first, but you let them sit for awhile and they will simmer quite nicely. He really has a steady hand for guiding you through an array of assorted takes (if you don't understand how they're sorted, you shouldn't be buying books...) on anything you can imagine, with the sporadic idiosyncrasy of a well-read, intelligently articulate "Drunk Uncle." The most surprising thing is at times there will be little nuggets you might find in a motivational book, so you better watch out, you just might learn something.This is a great book to have around and read in small segments between huge heavy books and huge heavy...life.

This book will force you to tap into every single human emotion love, hurt, pain, joy, laughter, hope, sympathy, empathy, etc. You will laugh as this animated writer dares to write what you only think. Witty and thoughtful - you may just view life a bit differently after reading this, especially all the jerks in the world!
This is a wonderful book. Funny, informative and utterly compelling. Martin Dove's take on life and his philosophy on a wide field of reference is refreshingly unpretentious considering the subjects...including, to name a few, poetry, ballet and opera. It's also surprisingly touching at times and very thought provoking.

Interesting off-beat former Hillbilly shares his incongruously sophisticated Big City perspective in this fun and fast moving read. Thought provoking, and abundantly entertaining... Recommend!.
